2006 Educational Programme
As the largest and longest established The Drug Treatment Centre in the country, The Drug Treatment Centre Board continues to provide a broad range of specialist treatments for the homeless drug using population and those requiring specialist psychiatric, psychological, social and medical interventions.
"Our mission is to provide an integrated person centred, specialist addiction service, supported by best practice and national leadership in academic excellence."
Over the past three years we have invested significant time and resources in developing our educational programme and in bringing it to our colleagues in addiction services around the country. In 2005 we staged a nationwide roadshow which brought our panel of experts to meet delegates in Cork, Limerick and Galway and this roadshow was further extended in 2006 to include Navan and Kilkenny. 2006 also saw the introduction of our first two day “Conference on the Treatment of Adolescent Addiction” which took place on 16/17th November in Dublin. Gathering delegates from Ireland and all over the UK, this conference aimed to equip attendees with the basic skills to conduct assessments of complex adolescent addiction cases and to subsequently develop treatment plans to tackle the problems identified. This sell out conference proved to be very beneficial to all those in attendance and copies of the conference schedule, speaker papers and workshop notes are available to download here.
We have commenced planning our 2007 educational programme and welcome your comments or suggestions (e-mail seminars@dtcb.ie or call 01 6488750) and we hope to welcome you to one of our events in 2007.
